What a month November is shaping up to be for supporting local nonprofits and philanthropy. Here is a listing and description of events that I’ll be attending and supporting this month:
November 5: Orange County Advisors in Philanthropy will host its luncheon speaker series “Philanthropy as a Strategic Business Advantage” featuring Sherri Neasham, independent exit planner with NAVIX Consultants. November 6: The Passkeys Foundation’s Institute for Community Impact will hold its 4th Annual OC Influencers for Good Awards program at the Segerstrom Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are available at:https://passkeysfoundation.regfox.com/oc-influencers-for-good

November 11: The Center Club Cares Committee will meet to make its final selection for its 2020 community partner. One nonprofit from the field of education and workforce development will receive a $10,000 grant as the 2020 partner. I help the committee select the partner as well as raise funds for the annual grant. Learn more about our Annual Hops & Vines event at: https://www.hopsandvines.org/
November 12: The OneOC Volunteerism Advisory Council will meet to further its work of fostering volunteerism for all of Orange County’s nonprofit organizations. November 13: The Orange County Community Foundation Impact Philanthropy Group will present grant checks totaling $60,000 to several leading local nonprofits making an impact in mental health services. November 14: The Association for Fundraising Professionals, Orange County hosts National Philanthropy Day at the City National Grove of Anaheim to recognize leading individuals, businesses, and organizations that have made a difference in our community. November 20: The Orange County Community Foundation will hold its annual meeting at the Hotel Irvine, where it will highlight its work this past year supporting numerous nonprofit organizations and the grantors who make their support possible. I’ll likely need a vacation after this month’s activities, and so I’ll be happy to spend Thanksgiving week with my family in Sonoma’s wine country. Enjoy the month!
