I believe that the secret to living life well and leaving a lasting legacy is found by making contributions in our communities that help others prosper. One way that is done is through volunteering.

We have a large number of amazing nonprofits that serve Orange County, and sometimes it can be hard to match your skills to the nonprofits that need them. In this blog post, I’m highlighting the nonprofit organizations in Orange County that serve children and need your help this fall:

Pure Game

Pure Game is a non-profit organization located in Lake Forest, California. The group uses the game of soccer to teach kids how to break out of their current circumstances and shine in a positive environment. Mentors and volunteers teach children in the program to believe in themselves through experiential learning.

Programs typically run for ten weeks and include the Pure Game Star & Soccer character education curriculum. Through this program, children learn about positive values and how they can incorporate them into their lives every day.

There are several different ways you can volunteer with the Pure Game organization. You can choose to work with kids during in-school or after-school programs. Pure Game also offers volunteer opportunities at its camps during the summer and during various fundraisers throughout the year. You can also volunteer by becoming a Board member.

Volunteer to mentor or coach children to develop goals, build character, and teach them to become leaders. For more information on volunteering with Pure Game e-mail info@thepuregame.org.

What We Do: About Us

Ronald McDonald House

The Ronald McDonald House is a well-known non-profit group that helps families around the country stay together when their child is sick and may need care that is far away from home. The Ronald McDonald House aims to provide housing for these families near their treatment centers for little or no cost.

Besides offering housing, the Ronald McDonald House also sponsors family rooms located inside hospitals, like the one at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County. These rooms provide families with a place to eat, rest, and talk with others while being right down the hallway from their children.

In order for these rooms to remain vital, they need volunteers. Volunteer opportunities at the family room at CHOC include cooking, cleaning, baking, collecting wish list items, helping at events, data entry, and more. If you’re interested in volunteering, click here to fill out an online form.
